The place lies sandwiched between the Arabian Sea in the west and the Punnamada backwaters in the east. The stretch of endless white sand, is dotted with curio stalls, old ruined monuments, and veined with the famed Kerala Backwaters. And only after you reach this place, you will know what made some forerunners nickname it – Venice of the East.
