Laze at Baga Beaches
Sandwiched between its famous cousins Calangute and Anjuna, the
Baga Beach measures some 30 km coastline along Goas West Coast. This
crescent-shaped Beach, 15 km from Panaji, was originally an extension of its
more famous twin Calangute, but it is more popular amongst those who want to
enjoy a truly sequestered vacation at an Indian beach.
Baga Beach Attractions
Beach Activities: The crescent-shaped Baga with its soft
white sands is a popular joint for water-sports activities like para
sailing, jet skiing, body boarding and surfing. The dolphin cruises in the
sea is a rage with tourists. The rocky headland that surrounds the beach and
the sea waves that crash and return create an atmosphere of romance endemic
to the Baga beach.
Nightlife at the Baga Beach: The nights here at the beach comes
alive with families and couples going to the dance-clubs, lazing at the
beach-front, walking by the shore, or enjoying sea-food. Recommended cuisine
is an authentic Goan palate by the Arabian Sea. The beach houses some of Goas
hippest nightclubs like Tito's and Cafe Mambo.
Forts and Hills: The beach begins at Fort Aguada and continues up to
Fort Chapora. Which means you can hire a motor cycle and travel from one end
to the other visiting both the Forts. Only 10 km away is a the major Goan
town Mapusa. You also have the option of trekking up the Baga Hill.
Best Time to Visit
Avoid the summers (June Oct) and head for Baga Beach between
November and February.

Baga beach. Nearest railheads are Thivim and Panaji. You can also reach Baga
from Mapusa, only 30 km away. Baga Beach has excellent road networks
connecting to the nearby major cities of Goa.
