What could have been a better name for the palace built on the shores of
the beautiful Balsamand Lake! Some 7 km (4 ½ miles) north of Jodhpur,
on Mandore Road, is this red-sandstone Rajput architectural extravaganza,
now, fortunately turned into a heritage hotel. It is 12 km from Airport, 7
km from Railway Station, 5 km from Bus Stand.

The sandstone rooms are fabulous with lots of lamps for atmospheric
lighting, a gorgeous mix of Rajasthani and colonial furniture, a

at its sauna, steam and jacuzzi lounges. Try cycling to explore the
attractions nearby and later feast yourself to an enticing Ayurvedic
massage. Golf enthusiasts can tee up at the verdant golf course. Horse
riding, camel safari, jogging, croquet sessions, excursions to nearby spots
are other recreational activities that await at Bal Samand.
