It used to be
a Fortified settlement of the Rajputana royalty and depicts
Rajput-Moghul architecture. Its diwan-i-khas or the Dorbar Hall with
the Rajputana paintings looks too royal for a hotel. The Sheesh Mahal
or the Palace of Mirrors was my personal favorite. The Arabian Nights
purlieu is best enjoyed if you book a room that has its windows
opening to the lovely pool and the Aravalli range. Do take a trip to
the neighboring Samode Bagh, a part of the Samode Hotels, for its
interesting tents and 200 feet long row of fountains fed from natural
springs. Shekhawati region and the desert sand dunes are best explored
from here. And the camel rides might give you back-aches, but trust me
it is worth it!
