The once abode of a British Captain E.S. Jackson, this piquant heritage property was brought by the District Commissioner of Kumaon and still owned and maintained by his daughter and her German husband.

The building and the architecture is a blend of the East and the West and the 9 rooms are each unique and special. The Eagles Nest has an advantage over the Himalayan Magpie (the stone cottage) when it comes to the Himalaya vista. The twin Pheasant Cottages share the same balcony and open to the rising sun in the east. The other cozy twin cottages are – Hoopoe and Cuckoo, Goldfinch and Rosefinch. For the Almora foothill view, go for the Scarlet Minivet cottage.
