Rambagh Palace, Jaipur

Category :5 Star Deluxe (Taj Group) - Government Approved

Why stay at..

Location :
Rambagh Palace's 19 hectares/47 acres property graces Sawani Sing Road, Around Town, which is 11 km from Sanganer Airport, 4 km from Jaipur Railway Station, and 4 km from Sindhi Camp Bus Stand.

Living in a Palace :
The Rambagh Palace, fondly nicknamed 'Jewel of Jaipur', has housed generations of Rajput royality until 1957, when it got converted to luxury hotel by Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II. The theme rooms, historical suites, royal suites that used to be once personal chambers of the once kings, grand royal suite (includes Maharani Suite which was built as a surprise gift to Maharani Gayatri Devi and the Prince's suite), grand Presidential suite (Suryavanshi Suite) with its dining hall - are some of the palatial specials, all done in rich silk drapes and warm colors, reminiscent of Rajputana royalty. One can't feel more kingly!

Dining :
Neel Mahal is the round the clock, cozy coffee shop. At Suvarna Mahal, known for its grand ambiance and Indian, Continental, Chinese and local cuisine, try the Rajasthani thali. The amphitheater-like open-air restaurant Panghat, serves amazing Rajasthani and Continental food. Barbecued food in the front lawns are another Rambagh Palace specialty.

Wining :
The bar, Polo Bar, as the name suggests, is an interesting mini-museum of polo trophies won by the late Maharaja of Jaipur. Visit it once and you will know why some rank it the finest of bars in the world.

Reviews

The corridors are a bit too dimly lit, but the rooms are spacious. The lawns are huge and you would at time want to stay there forever. The indoor pool is some sort of a disappointment. But the hospitality and the rich colors of the place makes up for everything. It is a warm place to be.
